Journeys in Ancient Egypt

Ancient Civilisations: Life and Death in Ancient Egypt

This full-day visit will enable pupils to discover and investigate real Egyptian artefacts that have been found in tombs.

Full Day Session

£4.50 per child

Ipswich Museum and Gallery

During this full-day visit they can map the journey of an Ancient Egyptian artefact from the potter who made it to the museum visitors who handle it today.

Activities include:

  • Handling real Ancient Egyptian objects to discover the stories they have to tell
  • Creating a living timeline and making clay shabtis for the Pharaoh
  • Stepping into the mummy’s tomb to explore the importance of the afterlife
  • Exploring the Natural History gallery and discovering the animals that inspired the gods of Ancient Egypt

Minimum charge may apply. Prices are valid until 31st March 2018.

Minimum and maximum group sizes: 20 to 30 pupils.

All school, nursery and group visits must be booked in advance.

We are now invoicing all school groups for their visits. Invoices will follow approximately 10 working days from the date of your trip. The number of children indicated on the booking form is an approximate. You will only be charged for the number of children who actually visit on the day.
