Volunteering can be a fantastic experience for all involved and we are keen to share opportunities at Colchester and Ipswich with new audiences.

Work Experience

Colchester + Ipswich Museums host week-long work experience placements for students in years 10 – 12.

Traineeships

Through traineeships, aimed at individuals with no prior museum employment, we are opening up routes to the museum sector.

Gifts And Bequests

Collections in both Colchester and Ipswich continue to be enriched through donation, purchase and field collection.

We are proud to be supported by very active “Friends” organisations. They offer valuable advocacy and regularly provide funding to support museum activities.
