The Training Museum
We are fortunate to work with a large number of volunteers, some of whom have supported the organisation for many years. They make invaluable contributions in a variety of ways, from working on conservation projects to meeting and greeting our visitors.
Everyone has skills that they can offer and helping to protect our shared heritage is very rewarding and lots of fun.
We aim to share a range of exciting volunteering projects twice a year, around March for Spring-Summer and September for Autumn -Winter. Some do pop up in between and we do have on-going opportunities.
If you are 18 or over, you can apply to the roles listed here by sending a completed expression of interest form.
Find out more about what it’s like to volunteer from some of our past and present volunteers.

“I count it a privilege to work with a nice group of professional people and be allowed to handle and work with objects that, in other circumstances, I would never be allowed to touch.”
“Volunteering is an excellent way to build on the interests you have, be they in Natural History, Archaeology, Art, Social History, or any of the other topics covered by the collections.”
